IKKJUTT JAMMU demands reconstruction of demolished temples in Kashmir
Today in a press statement, Legal Cell Member Advocate Amzi Arthur John with other legal cell members Advocate Prateek Mahajan, Advocate Ajay Sharma, Advocate Vishal Sharma and Parmeet Kumar along with a member of IkkJutt Jammu Mr. Kanwar Tiku (Social Activist) demands reconstruction of demolished temples present in Kashmir. If not reconstruct by the Government, Legal Cell assures legal action or other appropriate steps will be taken to renovate damaged Hindu temples in Kashmir.
Advocate Amzi A John who is legal cell member of IkkJutt Jammu pointed out that RTI applications have been filed by Legal cell IkkJutt Jammu to every district in Kashmir and replies have also been recieved in which it is found that more than 150 temples have been destroyed or damaged which have not been reconstructed yet.
He also added that reply from district Sopore revealed that after 2014, government didn’t initiate to reconstruct damaged temples. Some temples have been damaged due to weather and some have been damaged due to other reason. He asked from government, “who is the accountable for reconstruction? There is no intention of the government to reconstruct not the temple but the loss of glory of Hinduism in Kashmir. Even in a reply, concerned Tehsildars didn’t not reveal the allocation of funds from the government to renovate damaged temples.
IkkJutt Jammu demands from the Lieutenant Governer of Jammu and Kashmir to initiate the construction work to renovate damaged temples in Kashmir as soon as possible.
